Certain new construction, renovations or short-term rentals may require bear box installation per county ordinance. TTSD does not require bear box installation, but highly encourages customers to contain their trash cans in industry standard bear boxes.

All material, trash and recycling, is sorted at Eastern Regional Landfill. During sorting, available recyclables and commodities are diverted from the waste stream.
No, the blue bag recycling program is not mandatory. All waste is sorted for recycling regardless of how it is collected.
The best method to recycle cardboard boxes is self-haul drop off at Eastern Regional Landfill for free during open hours. Otherwise, be sure to breakdown your boxes and place them in a tied blue bag for free pickup. Loose cardboard is subject to extra charges.
